Structural & Coring Clearance

Protect structural integrity with reinforcement & slab scanning.

Severing a tensioned tendon, main structural rebar, or embedded power conduit during core drilling causes dangerous structural damage, costly downtime, and expensive remedial engineering. Unlike X-ray radiography, concrete GPR requires no building evacuation and delivers instant on-slab markings.

01

Pre-Coring & Saw-Cutting Concrete Clearance

We scan around your proposed core drilling or floor-sawing locations and mark every rebar bar, tendon, and conduit directly on the concrete surface so your drillers hit clear concrete.

02

Post-Tension Slab Scanning

Identify the parabolic drape profile and depth of post-tensioned (PT) steel tendons inside suspended commercial, retail, and parking garage slabs.

03

Reinforcement Scanning & Structural Engineering Verification

Determine rebar grid spacing, bar layers, concrete cover depth, and slab thickness for structural engineers assessing load upgrades, refurbishments, or as-built compliance.

04

Embedded Conduit, Pipe & Void Detection

Locate plastic or metal electrical conduits, underfloor heating pipes, plumbing lines, and honeycombing or sub-slab voids.

How It Works

How our 4-step concrete scanning process works

Fast, clean on-site marking so your core drillers or engineers can proceed immediately.

Step 01

Mark Proposed Core / Scan Grid

Show our technician the exact points where you need to core drill, cut, or verify reinforcement.

Step 02

High-Frequency Radar Grid Sweep

We run our concrete GPR scanner in perpendicular X-Y passes to image both layers of reinforcement and angled tendons.

Step 03

Direct On-Slab Marking

Rebar grids, post-tension cables, conduits, and safe "Clear to Core" zones are drawn clearly on the concrete slab.

Step 04

Concrete Scan Report

We provide photographic records, radargram profiles, and cover depth logs for your structural engineer and safety file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about GPR scanning & utility locating.

Need specific advice for your site? Call our team directly on 061 766 8359, WhatsApp 061 766 8359, or use our alternative landline 010 746 3891.

What is the difference between reinforcement scanning with GPR and concrete X-ray?

Concrete GPR scanning is 100% radiation-free, only requires access to one side of the slab or wall, can be performed in occupied buildings during normal working hours, and provides immediate on-site markings without waiting for film processing.

Can your concrete scanner distinguish between rebar and post-tension cables?

Yes. By scanning a structured grid across the slab, our technicians trace the characteristic draped depth profile of post-tensioned (PT) tendons versus the uniform horizontal grid of standard reinforcing steel (rebar).

How deep into concrete can you scan?

Our high-frequency concrete GPR systems accurately detect rebar, tendons, conduits, and slab thickness up to 500 mm–600 mm deep in cured concrete.
